Prüfung je Website in zehn Minuten.
- Er gibt sich zu erkennen:
smartEngin-Check-Scanner/0.2.0 (+https://scanner.smartengin.de/), Absenderadresse 172.105.65.17.

Who is scanning here?
This server belongs to smartEngin Check (https://check.smartengin.de/). It checks websites for security
problems – only on behalf of the owner of the website in question.
How a job comes about
- The owner adds the website in their customer account and proves control of it – by meta
tag, file or DNS record. Only someone with access to the website or the domain can do that.
- They explicitly tick „I allow the deep check“ and can withdraw it at any time.
- Only then does this server request addresses of that one website.
What this server does – and does not do
- It only reads: it changes nothing, deletes nothing, logs in nowhere and tries no passwords.
- It checks only the domain of the job, never its neighbours on the same server.
- It never reads file contents: the report only says that a file is reachable, how large it is
and whether it contains a password marker.
- It is rate-limited: about 100 to 150 requests within one or two minutes, at most one check per
website per ten minutes.
- It identifies itself:
smartEngin-Check-Scanner/0.2.0 (+https://scanner.smartengin.de/), source address 172.105.65.17.
You do not want to be scanned?
Write to check@smartengin.de and name the domain. We will exclude it permanently and
can show you who allowed the check, when, and with which proof. You are welcome to block the address in your own
firewall; the check then reports "not checkable" to the customer.
